This day was our last day at the conference so we decided to walk around and sort of take everything in once more, because Samseong-dong was so far from we lived that we were sure we weren't coming back again in this trip.
The infamous Gangnam Style sculpture was just outside. This monument was apparently very controversial because PSY, the artist who sang Gangnam Style, condemns it since it was an act used to hide corruption of a government official.
Lots of interesting buildings in Seoul!
Outfit details: From Korea cardigan, UNIQLO x SPRZ t-shirt, UNIQLO skinny jeans, New Balance sneakers, From Korea tote messenger.
The front of the conference area is usually filled with people. But it was really relaxed on the last day. On the left is the main hall, while on the right are South Korean tourism stalls.
There are a bunch of free activities and freebies here that are perfect for souvenirs. You can get and send out post cards and they'll mail it for you. You can also personalize tote bags after liking the South Korean Tourism Facebook page!
You can dress up and have your photo taken in traditional attire.
Last day group photo!
We took another walk around COEX and stopped by the Starfield Library!
Just a beautiful public space where you can both read and buy books!
We need more malls like this! You can shop *and* sit down and read.
They also apparently hold talks and workshops here!
So many levels of awesome.
Next, we stopped by Dongdaemun Design Plaza since my friends haven't visited there yet.
A new Kakao Friends store opened up during our visit so we checked it out as well.
We took some photos around DDP and decided to take a quick visit to Lotte FitIn especially after we read that there was a major K-Pop store here.
Unfortunately, we were told that the K-Pop store had closed so we just decided to walk around and see what's inside. The clothes here are definitely still on the pricey side. There's a mix of international and local brands. However, I do recommend checking out the cosmetics floor for some good deals on skincare. Nature Republic has a lot of good deals here, unlike the one in Myeongdong which is a bit of a tourist trap, sadly.
Afterwards, we returned to Hongdae to spend the rest of our evening and consequently found heaven. LOL. Meat-ing is a popular Korean barbeque restaurant and I can't say I'm surprised. Here, you can unlimited barbeque for a very affordable price of 12,500won for lunch and 13,900won for dinner!
Us later on.
The selection is pretty expansive and I can't even name everything off the top of my head. You have your classic cuts like pork belly, beef belly, chicken thigh, and chicken fillet; even steak cuts! But there are also less popular choices like smoked duck, squid, and a meat cut that looks like fat but isn't and it tastes like bacon. All I know is that it was amazing! Haha!
Rest assured, the quality is amazing and everything is so easy to do. You also have unlimited sauce, lettuce leaves, and a bunch of Korean snacks like sausages, seaweed rice balls, and caramelized sweet potatoes. I cannot recommend this place enough! I could literally go back to Korea just for Meat-ing, I swear!
Stay tuned for more!
