New York 2018 | Brooklyn Day 3 Part 1 - Industry City

We started our third day in Brooklyn at Tom's Restaurant! I feel like the best food I've had in my whole trip was in Brooklyn diners. Haha!

Tom's Restaurant is also well-known for their super retro interiors.

Sadly, I can't remember exactly what we ordered. But everything here is priced at around 10-15 bucks at the expected giant servings. Tom's Restaurant is especially famous for their pancakes and I completely agree with the hype. Truly the best pancake I've ever had! And you can top it with their homemade flavored butters and maple syrup. What I do remember about the name is that it has Lemon and Ricotta Cheese in it. Huhu.

We also ordered a Huevos Rancheros Omelette which was lightly cheesy with strong notes of tomato and jalapeno. Very tasty and contrasted well with the Grits! Not the most appetizing to look at but definitely something perfect for a hearty breakfast!

After breakfast, we headed to the Brooklyn Museum which was... closed on Mondays. So we just took photos outside and moved on.

The Brooklyn Botanical Garden was also closed...

Super appreciate the blend of classic and modern architecture in the Brooklyn Museum! A very original take on the Musee de Louvre in Paris.

Now that we had a lot of time suddenly free, we decided to proceed to the subway going to Industry City. It's a bit of a walk from the Brooklyn Museum area but there's a lot of sights to keep you distracted.

Once you get past Plaza Street, there should be a station just beyond it. Only realizing now that this is where one of my current favorite K-Pop groups, (G)I-dle performed their flash mob very recently! Aaaaaah! I absolutely love them to bits. (You can watch it here. This is the spot in the night scene!)

We got off at the 36th Street Station and it was a short walk from there to Industry City!

Like so many new attractions in Brooklyn, Industry City is a repurposed area that used to be a factory warehouse and was converted into a commercial and art area. Here, you can find a mix of food, design stores, cafes, working spaces, and even a museum and a public park!

Every area in between the buildings is a park in a different design!

As you can see, it's a whole warehouse complex and every building has something to check out!

However, the most popular building here is, of course, the food hall! You can find it at the westernmost building.

Before we left Industry City, we of course, had to try the food!

There are lots of healthy choices here but the price is slightly higher than most spots.

There's even a restaurant here that specializes in everything avocado! Hipster overload!

We decided to order from Table 87. Famous for their Coal Oven Pizza!

We ordered their classic Margherita Pizza and it was simple and delicious the way a Margherita Pizza is supposed to be. On the side, of the restaurant, there's a small tray where you can get some garlic toppings as well as chili sauce and olives!

For dessert, we tried Blue Marble Ice Cream which is the most popular spot in the Food Hall.

We tried the Blue Marble & Organic Marcona Almond Ice Cream. Like most artisanal ice cream I've tried, it was light and creamy and not too sweet. Nothing out of this world though! However, I will say I loved the generous serving of almond chunks in the ice cream. Definitely liked this more than Malai from Smorgasburg.
