We decided to check out the exhibits at the UIA Conference in between talks so I decided to document it for a quick tour around what I found in the exhibit area!
You've got your usual spaces for building products who are promoting their latest innovations.
Architectural firms in Seoul actually made beautiful pavilions to represent their companies!
And then there are pavilions made by students from different universities in South Korea. This one is from Hongik University!
So many interesting interpretations of design!
We walked around a little in COEX Convention Hall and finally found the lecture classrooms. We didn't go in though because we were all so excited to explore/shop at Ewha Women's University!
Outfit details: UNIQLO t-shirt and blazer, Penshoppe joggers, New Balance sneakers.
Now, off to Ewha! From Samseong-dong, it was about a 40 minute ride going to Ewha but at least, no switching of lines needed~
We went out at Exit 3 and was immediately greeted by crossing and a bunch of restaurants as well as street food stands.
Compared to Hongdae, Ewha is a lot quieter and the stores are more quaint. For someone who doesn't enjoy the crowds of Hongdae, you might like Ewha! I just think Hongdae has a lot more options though.
We took a break before shopping at Dessert Story which is one of the restaurants you'll see immediately once you get out of the station.
We had Injeolme Bingsu! Injeolme is almonds and peanut powder that melts in your mouth! It's sweet and peanut-butter-y. The sliced rice cake bits also add texture and it's definitely my favorite bingsu flavor.
Now, it was time to explore what Ewha Women's University had to offer!
I wasn't able to take a photo of everything we saw but beyond this street is an endless array of small to medium shops. No surprise there, majority of the stuff sold here is for women. However, there is still a ton of good menswear to see despite the very few stores that carry it. I actually found so many affordable but super stylish shirts here and I'm so excited to feature them on the blog! We shopped so much that we never did make it to the actual university. Haha! There's always next time, I guess!
Stay tuned for more!
