Look To The Light | 2017

Happy New Year, everyone! There is no doubt that 2016 was a tough year, but I would never go so far as to blame it for all the horrible things that may have happened. We are responsible for what happens in our lives; not some measurement of time. Blaming a year of bad events is like saying you just laid there and allow some magical force to control you and that's just the saddest thing ever. I'd like to believe that 2016 is like any other year; we live, we face challenges, and we move on. It's a formula we follow ever since we came into this world. However, I do believe the factor that changes this formula is the people we go through life with. Sadly for me, I lost a lot of people last year and it put me in a very dark place. College life can be immensely unfair and you can suddenly just find yourself alone and we all know how tough that can be. It sucks; it really really does, but you come out so much stronger at the end. Trust me on this.

It's quite shameful when we realize how much we let others define our worth. Always remind yourself - and I cannot stress this enough - that as long as you have your family and friends who know and love you to your very core - regardless of numbers - you'll be okay. That's it. No lengthy article. No overdramatic photo shoot needed. (Except for the quick outfit post below lol)

Surround yourself with love; the kind of love that makes you stronger and braver - and I don't think there's anything you can't handle. Everything may seem terrible right now but better days are ahead; you just have to look to the light.

PENSHOPPE button-down with sweater sleeves, UNIQLO easy shorts, ZALORA sneakers, SM Accessories silver cuff, COACH messenger bag.

P.S. I think this is my best photo set of 2016. I'd like to think I'm getting the hang of editing my photos. Haha! What do you think? :)

  2. I will keep an eye out for that Coach messenger bag. I really like how it looks. I have never seen those above-the-knee shorts in Uniqlo before. I do not think it will look good on me though, hehe.

  4. That's a very interesting outfit. The shirt with its unique sweater sleeve is very interesting and the color combo is subtle which makes it blend w well without being quirky!

  6. Bad things happens but we control our destiny. The sooner we adopt the better we get.

  7. Love your simplistic OOTD. But I think you suit a backpack more than a slingbag... Keep up the work and effort though~
