Jupiter Street is a treasure trove of different restaurants that suit different tastes; one of the restaurants here being Mitsuyado Sei-Men! (Review here.) Anywho, on that day, my family wanted to go for something we didn’t have as much these past few months: Chinese food!
Well, not the authentic only-found-in-China ones but I’m pretty sure you know what I mean! LOL
Growing up, restaurants like these are what comprised my early memory of eating out. From the interiors to the uniforms of the staff and to the smell of the place, everything is always so familiar whenever I walk into joints like this. You see, when I was much younger, we always ate at places like this! :)
Before I go any further, unlike a lot of the places I’ve reviewed, Lutong Macau’s food is quite affordable! And by that I mean, really affordable and REALLY worth it. The price is good and you get such large servings, you’d be shocked. :D
First up was a heaping (And I mean, HEAPING) pile of Yang Chow Fried Rice. I’ve always been a big fan of it, because, hello, it’s Yang Chow Fried Rice! It’s so good you can eat it just as it is and you’d be happy. Not even kidding.
Who can forget the steamed vegetables in the thick salty-sweet sauce? Always a great thing to pair with the awesome fried rice! (Unfortunately forgot to list this one’s name down.)
Fish Fillet in Mango Sweet-Chili Sauce! You can never really go wrong with fried fish fillet. This one has a sauce that is sweet, spicy, and sour that’s just enough to keep the dish exciting and good despite the monotony that fried food can often give.
Definitely one of the more interesting dishes was the Chicken Laksa! They serve this with lightly toasted bread which you dip into the sauce! The curry sauce is definitely not your ordinary curry flavor. To be honest, it tastes a lot more authentic than a lot of curries I’ve tried. In fact, so authentic it might surprise the others because of the taste. (i.e. Not for everyone, but I absolutely loved it!)
These are the Mushroom Scallops, if I’m not mistaken. Without question, these were absolutely fantastic. Steamed scallops, plus garlic and a whole bunch of other yummy stuff? Can’t go wrong with that! :)
For 1700 bucks, it left our family extremely full (With leftovers, if I may add.) and extremely satisfied! Definitely go back to this place again if the Chinese food cravings were to return. Thumbs up! :D
Lutong Macau is located at 116 Jupiter Street, Bel-Air, Makati City. It also has a branch at SM Megamall!
