Dragon Chef

I love Trinoma. As in really really love it. It used to be my absolute favorite mall until Cotton On, Forever 21, and Uniqlo popped up at the Mall of Asia. Now, it’s a fierce battle between the two for my heart! LOL

Anyways, the only thing I don’t like is that there always seems to be a lack of choice when it came to eating there. I just think there isn’t a place that I can point you to if ever you were to ask me to recommend a good place.

I was pretty glad to know this little joint opened up at Trinoma’s garden area where all the restaurants usually are. Again, like Mu Noodle Bar, it exuded a very modern sophistication that drew customers in.

The ceiling is one of the first things you’ll notice as it is decorated with lovely vintage art. I love how it gives so much character to the place! Whoever thought of this is a GENIUS.

Velvet bookshelves full of Asian-themed books, as well as old-generation English literature. Not sure if the customers are allowed to take one and read but feel free to ask the staff if you ever drop by for a bite! :)

We started the meal off with Calamares! Dragon Chef’s version doesn’t mainly consist of the squid’s body cut into rings but also uses the tentacles that closely remind me of how we make it at home, except it tastes so yummy because of their frying batter, These morsels were most definitely delicious and are sure to taste great with…

Yang Chow Fried Rice! I love this dish. I think I can eat just this and be happy. Why does it taste so good?

Fried pork loin with pineapple fritters dipped in a sweet-and-sour sauce. This is a cool take on just the classic “lechon kawali.” The fried pineapples work so so well with the sauce and the pork. :)

Last is the fried fish fillet in sweet-and-sour sauce. Again, very yummy. There’s something about their batter that’s just so yummy! Plus, I’m very attached to sweet-and-sour everything, so there’s that. Hahaha!

Remember when I talked about the kind of place where you can enjoy a more traditional Chinese meal? This is definitely one of those places.

Dragon Chef is located at Level 4, Trinoma Mall, North Avenue, Quezon City.
