Once In A Blue Moon

I was so thrilled when my dad announced that we were to watch The Phantom of The Opera last Sunday! For those who don’t know, which I’m sure is NOT possible, The Phantom of The Opera is the highest grossing musical of all time! Not only has it been nearly impossible to get seats, but the tickets themselves are worth a lot, so I was so happy when my parents decided to go for it anyway! LOL

Anyways, here are some of the photos I managed to take with my phone. It was fairly dark and as you all may know, my phone’s camera is quite far from adequate, so please bare with me! I edited the photos as best as I can to show each photo’s features.

If you saw the stage, you’d know how high-budget the production was. It’s amazing Venetian architecture was unfortunately not very visible in my photos.

The eager audience is just as anxious to see the show as my family and I are! Since the theater was filled with ushers, I didn’t dare take photos of the performance so I’m afraid that’s all I can give you on the play.

After the spectacular show, we decided to have dinner at this Japanese place called Kokoro Ramenya because a family friend had recommended it. Being in the vicinity, we thought, “Oh what the heck.” and so we dined! LOL

And here’s a little of the restaurant’s modern asian interior! Don’t you just love the wooden pattern by the kitchen? The lights are also so cool with the branch silhouette!

Now, for the food!

If I’m not mistaken, this is the house specialty, Fried California Maki. It’s actually far from your average California Maki because Kokoro Ramenya injected their own twist to it, adding tempura bits on the outer surface and drizzling it with a sweet chili mayo sauce that, in my opinion, was such a smart way to enhance the depth of the flavor!

And of course, what is Japanese food without sashimi? The salmon was salmon, it didn’t get any better than that! Plus, I loved their extra spicy wasabi. (Yes, I looooove spicy food! And I happen to think wasabi is one of the best things on EARTH!)

Well, that’s my Sunday. Has anyone else watched The Phantom of The Opera? If you haven’t yet, you’re really missing out! Drop by the Cultural Center of The Philippines (CCP) and get your tickets while the season’s extended until October 15, if I’m not mistaken. While you’re at it, stop by Kokoro Ramenya for a dining experience you’ll surely remember!
