Sugi

More Japanese food from me! Whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing is entirely up to you. LOL I just can’t get enough of it! Japanese food is just so great, especially if the restaurant is as cool as Sugi!

Sugi is one of the more famous Japanese joints in Manila. It’s always been considered as one of the fanciest Japanese restaurants in the city.

Can you spot Pokwang? Haha! Saw her for the first time that night! Talk about coincidence!

Mix sushi platter was up first! In general, sashimi platters taste just about the same. Haha! But you can definitely tell that Sugi’s platter is quite fresh!

Again, no Japanese restaurant experience is ever complete with my family without having Spicy Tuna! Actually, the very first time I had this dish was actually in Sugi! I don’t know for that day though, but the Spicy Tuna seems to have lost its usual impact on me that day which is weird because Sugi’s Spicy Tuna is the best. Maybe we just got an unlucky serving? :

As for my own dish, I got the Curry Soba! With it being Japanese curry, it was surprisingly sweet but had this hot onion-y undertone that really worked well with everything, but after you consume about 3/4 of the bowl, the taste starts to grow on you and it loses its appeal overtime. In Filipino, medyo nakakaumay. Definitely recommend for this dish to be shared, but it’s definitely good! :)

Sugi will always have a special place in my heart, but it can get a little expensive. It’s a good place to splurge on Japanese food, but I daresay places like Omakase definitely don’t fall far at all.

'Til next time! :D
