Before I get to the last post for my Easter trip, I’d like to first cover one very significant part of the trip; or any trip, for that matter: FOOD!
The first restaurant we ate at outside of Vista del Mar was Alauar. It’s pretty much your typical Filipino restaurant that focuses on seafood!
As you can see, these are classic seafood dishes; some are char-grilled and some are stir-fried in coconut milk! :D
The next restaurant we tackled was Palmeras, and I have to say, it’s definitely one of the best places to visit when it comes to food! Sadly, I didn’t get to take a picture of the sign. LOL Enjoy the food shots, though!
What you see above is one of my recent dessert discoveries! It’s called a KnickerBocker. (For reasons that aren’t very clear to me, but who cares?! It’s AWESOME.) It’s basically Zamboanga’s take on the classic fruit salad, only thing is: they use more unconventional fruits that make ALL the difference, such as watermelon! The best part is that it doesn’t feel like random fruits were chosen and just thrown in. The flavors and textures are incredibly cohesive that I was so surprised! The foodie in me approves! LOL
The last of the restaurants is Teng’s Grill! Our tour guide, Milabelle, wanted us to try some classic cultural dishes, which is why she brought us here.
The black chunk of meat on the left is actually chicken cooked in what I guess is burnt coconut milk/meat. The flavor was actually quite refreshing but the dry chicken kind of got in the way. Other than that though, it was nice!
Aaand that’s pretty much that for the food! Next up: the last day as well as a few outfit posts from my stay there! :D
