The last one and a half days at Singapore were spent trying to make the most out of our remaining time in this little slice of urban utopia. And by that, I mean spending it at the famous Universal Studios!
Since I’ve already been to California’s Universal Studios, I already had a mild idea of what to expect, and though the first area you’ll enter will really remind you of Disneyland, I assure you, you’re in for quite a surprise! Haha!
First stop is Fantasy Land, where Shrek-themed rides dominate the land. This is a pretty good place to start as a sort of warm-up for the crazier rides that will follow.
After the easy round comes the medium round, and that’s definitely what The Lost World area will bring you! I especially enjoyed the Canopy Flyer which basically dangles you on a metal bench (Which is of course, quite secure. Just try not to drop your shoes!) and puts you on a fun ride in the air! There’s also one where’ll you get wet but we didn’t get to ride it, sadly, but I hear it’s a lot more extreme than most of the attractions there!
Our tour guide had actually warned us beforehand about this ride: The Revenge of The Mummy! It apparently is the craziest ride in the park. In reality, all the talk made this ride kind of a let-down. Though it’s filled with twists and turns, it’s a pretty decent ride, but definitely not something that’ll give you a heart attack, just be sure to keep yourself glued to your back-rest and you should be fine!
On the left is definitely the most extreme/most fun ride in the park! As you can see, it’s comprised of two rails, a red one and a blue one. The red one is for thrill-lovers but do not wish to be scared out of their minds like me, while the blue one is for the ones who really dare to be flipped and whizzed across the air. The red one is definitely my favorite of all, but I unfortunately didn’t ride the blue one! Next time, maybe.
The Transformers ride on the right, however, is definitely a must-try! The line is going to be incredibly long, I tell you. 1 hour waiting time tops. But I swear, the ride is AWESOME. Probably the most amazing 3D ride I’ve ever come across!
The rest of the day was spent enjoying the street attractions of the place. None of us could ride anything after our big lunch! LOL
On the right is “Lights, Camera, Action!” Here, the Universal Studios staff, along with a video of Steven Spielberg, will explain to you how effects work. After that comes an awesome exhibition that’ll really get you going!
Our last stop at Universal Studios was The WaterWorld show. I’ve already seen it in my last trip to America so I already know how awesome it is! For people who don’t mind getting a little wet, definitely sit on the front row! This is also something you shouldn’t miss!
At night, of course, we mustered all of our remaining strength to go shopping! LOL
Last morning at Singapore was spent taking pictures of the vicinity, as well as attacking the stores while there was still time! LOL
Looking at these photos now, I kind of feel nostalgic! Singapore is definitely one of my favorite countries to date!
Bugis Street is definitely a great place to check out a lot of Singapore’s local products and really good for people who’re interested in finding a lot of unique stuff! I actually bought the perfect travel-sized bag, as well as an adorable watch, here that’ll be featured in my blog soon enough! Haha!
I also gave in to my sweet tooth and attacked all the yummy desserts I could find!
Gellateria Italiano definitely doesn’t cheat you on small scoops and bad flavors! Every pick is a punch of premium European goodness!
This came as a bit of a surprise at the airport: TWG! I’ve heard only good things about how awesome this place is; from their unbelievable selection of teas to their world-famous macarons! I tasted Chocolate Earl Grey, Rose, and Grand Wedding Tea, all of which I seriously am craving for until this very day! Seriously, people weren’t kidding when they said TWG was the BOMB. *Swoons*
And that’s the end of my Singapore travel post! Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! ‘Til next time!
