Hello Holiday

Time for another style post! Gaaaah! It’s been so long since I’ve done one of these! Anyways, I haven’t gone shopping in a bit of a while now, and I’ve settled for a little online window-shopping at Zara while waiting for the day until my dad finally takes us somewhere nice! LOL

This holiday season, I’ve got my sights set on pieces that are a bit out of the norm, in more ways than one, and it’s sort of made me realize how much my taste has evolved through the course of a year! I guess it’s from all the blogging and reading other people’s blogs. There’s just so much awesomeness out there, you know?

The first things on my list are slouchy relaxed pieces. They’re so effortlessly chic and so very very comfortable! I’m particularly drawn to the middle one because I love the pocket detail and of course, IT’S RED!! Nothing says Christmas like a festive red top! The left pullover, however, is a totally different story. The patch is absolutely genius! A non-sequitur way to punch up a classic! Lastly, the plain tee doesn’t need any more introduction, but there’s something about the quality of Zara’s shirts that I can’t help but love!

Next are the sweaters! These three are gorgeous in their own right. The loose-knit burgundy sweater in the middle is something I can definitely see myself wearing at school! It’s smart, casual, and cozy! The shawl collar piece on the right is also a thing of beauty. Ever since I saw Ryan Higa (a.k.a. NigaHiga!) wear one of these, I immediately realized how awesome they were! The collar gives this gorgeous whimsical effect to any outfit and that’s definitely a huge plus. For my favorite, the left one!! A simple piece made 100 times edgier and sleeker with the leather panelling! Ever since I’ve started reading Tricia Gosingtian's blog, I've developed this hunger for leather-cotton mix tops! They're so undeniably badass without going all the way, which is so so awesome!

We can’t forget the bags! It’s all about sleek sophistication now, especially now that I’ve developed a certain liking to men’s clutches, hence the studded beauty on the right. If it weren’t so expensive, I’d buy it in a heartbeat! Though the middle one isn’t as sophisticated at the others, it kind of awakens the otaku in me, rekindling memories of old anime shows set in a medieval era. It reminds of the bag that warriors, usually the main protagonist of the story, always carry! Also, it looks like Lightning Farron’s (Final Fantasy XIII) supply bag! Anyways, enough of my ranting. The real scene-stealer (As Lissa Kahayon would put it) would have to be the black messenger/briefcase! It’s practically brimming with sophistication, and I can definitely see the “future” me using it to all kinds of events and meetings!

Finally, the shoes. I’ve posted about it many many times before. I’m still looking for the perfect ankle boot! This leather kicker on the left is awesome. Enough said! I love how the leather makes it so much for formal but the soles keep it casual and relaxed. Oxfords are now on my radar, hence the blue one in the middle! Isn’t the blue shade absolutely adorable? Blue and brown are like a match made in heaven! Last is this rugged ankle combat boot. It brings me back to the days when I was absolutely OBSESSED (Total understatement!) with getting a pair of boots. I feel like laughing every time I think about it. Oh, youth! Parang ang tanda ko na e, noh? Hahahaha

If there’s one thing I noticed about the items I picked, it’s definitely that it’s jam-packed with gorgeous black pieces! I regret to say that I’ve only got to fully appreciate the beauty of black just now. It always struck me as too bold a color, but now that my style has developed, I find myself hopelessly in love with it! Black is just pure elegance; the epitome of sophistication! *Swoon*

And that’s my holiday wishlist! All photos courtesy of Zara. So what’s your holiday style list?
