Paper Boats

Today, I opted for a cleaner, simpler look, since I was still having some things altered. (What they are, you shall find out in the near future!)

Anyways, as I was thinking about what to wear, I suddenly thought of doing a nautical-inspired look. A big reason is because my dad’s out of town and we can’t really go anyplace big or shabby, so it’s time for some easy-comfort action! LOL

3/4 Pinstriped Shirt from Uniqlo, Shorts from Giordano, Shoes from GBX.

This is actually one of my first times doing a sort of black-and-white look because I’ve always shied away from it, thinking it was too dull, even for me, so I stuck to using neutrals as my darkest colors. I think everything changed when I started following Tricia Gosingtian, along with a few other great bloggers but mostly from her, how amazing black and white fashion can be. All you have to do is know how to mix and match!

I’m absolutely in love with contrast of the calm blacks and greys against the stark white of the shorts. For me, the true show-stopper in this look is the shorts!

And of course, my cute leather boat shoes from GBX.

After styling this look, my enthusiasm for black-and-white rose like you could never imagine! I’m definitely going to do more of these in the future, that’s if of course, I survive this new journalism thing my school is putting me on. They’ve chosen me to represent at a PNU news-writing competition under the feature-writing category. As a training project, they’ve assigned me to do four articles. FOUR articles. (Which is just crazy! LOL) So this coming week’s going to be crazier than usual. Wish me luck?
