Now that it’s officially the holidays, I’m sure a lot of us are ready to go crazy with all the Christmas feasting so before you head on over to your usual celebratory joint, here’s another idea for a great place to dine in for the holidays: The Fairmont Makati! :)
A few months back, my family decided to try the lunch buffet at The Fairmont in Makati. Hotel buffets are always something to look forward to. There’s just so much food to choose from, how can you not enjoy yourself?
The Fairmont is no exception to this as they have arrays of food just as luxe and premium-looking like any other hotel buffets. :)
Dimsum area offering the usual Siomai and Hakaw.
Sushi bar serving classic rolls and a few fusion variations.
Steak section! I love how The Fairmont is so generous with their servings of ribeye. :D
Cheeses! So. Much. Cheese!
Because Smoked Salmon is just- SO GREAT. :D
An interesting part of their buffet is the Honey section. They even have this little display of a honey comb to complete the look. Haha!
One of the most noteworthy treats was this dark chocolate cup with a tiny piece of honeycomb placed inside it. The dark chocolate has so much depth and it works well with the deep sweetness of the honey. I found the texture of the honeycomb to be really really chewy- Almost like gum! It took a while to swallow but it was a cool first time for honeycomb! :)
You also have all sorts of flavor-infused honeys to spread on madeleines! So cool.
What I love most about The Fairmont is the dessert section. Most buffets would put a lot of focus at their main dishes, and they continually neglect their desserts, resulting in really ordinary-tasting desserts that are so generic that you sort of just don’t think much of it. The Fairmont, however, does NOT disappoint.
Even their chocolate barks, eaten alone, are absolutely fantastic! The nuts and the chocolate are a match made in heaven. Not too sweet and the nuttiness is perfecto. :)
The gelato is also a must-have. The berry sorbet is definitely a favorite! :D
The Calamansi Chocolate Mousse was immensely enjoyable. Dark chocolate with the tang of calamansi- so so good!
Dessert-wise, The Fairmont is definitely one of the best I’ve tried. However, their main courses are not really that memorable for me. You should still definitely try this place as the food is still really great overall. Definitely worth going to Makati for. :)
The Fairmont Makati is located at 1 Raffles Drive, Makati Avenue, Makati City.
