After almost a month of procrastination, I’m finally able to steer away from my outfit posts for a little while and bring a little something different: travel posts! For the next few weeks I’ll be posting about my trip to Zamboanga last Easter. Since there were just so many photos I had to make several separate posts for my trip! So I’m going to kick off the series of travel posts by beginning with where we stayed, Vista del Mar! :)
We arrived at Zamboanga at around 6 in the morning, so the sun was barely up at the time and everything had this solemn and really “zen” vibe to it which I found to be really refreshing. It sure beats walking under the scorching sun. Am I right, people? Haha! Moving on, every corner of the harbor at Vista del Mar was incredibly photogenic (And that’s an understatement!) I can’t imagine what an experienced photographer could do with a place with this much potential!
Before you reach their in-resort restaurant, you get to pass by this gorgeous view, be warned though, the little pond on the right is a bit infested since it’s really shallow.
There’s also a public beach there but we really didn’t get to swim there. More so because the gray sand kind of freaked my OC senses out. If you’re going to Sta. Cruz Island (Which I will post too!), I suggest you just save all your swimming energy for that since the beach in Vista del Mar tends to have garbage lying around; sometimes in the sand, sometimes in the water! :(
I really appreciated how they decorated the place though, these seashells are just adorbs. Hahaha!
Vista del Mar has two kinds of places where you can stay overnight. There’s the Casitas which is where we stayed, and another which was like this big house where several families can stay. Sadly, I don’t remember the name. I recommend the Casitas because it’s fully screened so you won’t have a problem with mosquitoes which is a really big problem with staying in the big house.
Aaaand this is the Casitas! I know what you’re thinking. The exterior is far from luxurious, but this is actually where it gets really interesting!
Inside is a lovely fully-airconditioned, 3-person bedroom! Not bad, not bad at all! You also have a nice walk-in closet (Yes, you heard me right.), as well as an adequately sized bathroom.
Mirror selfie! LOL
Here’s a better view of the beach! If you’re itching for a swim and you’re not as bothered by the place as me, then I suggest you go for it! And I also forgot to mention, the food at Vista del Mar is great! Probably even better than most of the places I’ve eaten in while I was there.
To sum it all up, Vista del Mar is no Shangri-La or Movenpick, but it’s pretty much perfect for the no-fuss traveler, especially if you’re there to tour around like me. Thanks, Vista del Mar, for having all 30+ of us! (And it was all just family and friends! LOL) Anyways, more posts to come!
'Til next time! :)
