Foliage

I’ve been dying to try a fall-inspired look for a while now, especially since most of the colors and tones in my closet suit the season, anyway! (Yes, I have a bit of a boring closet. LOL) Also, I’ve been wanting to channel one of my favorite fashion icons, Adam Gallagher, for the longest time! If you don’t know him, you should definitely check him out! Every outfit practically oozes class and sophistication! Gaaah, it’s sometimes overwhelming! (Adam, why you so good? LOL) That’s why when the day came that I was to take my entrance exams for De La Salle University, I finally took the chance to dress up!

For this outfit post, I decided to bid a temporary farewell to fun pastels and other summery shades, and welcomed back my long-lost loves that are the richer, more substantial colors of autumn.

Shirt from Topman, Jacket from Penshoppe, Chinos from Giordano, Sneakers from Converse, Belt from Van Heusen.

I’ve been wanting to wear this Topman shirt for QUITE some time now; even way before I started blogging. I’m absolutely in love with the pattern and everything about it, but I could never overcome its excessive “boxiness” that threw too much attention away from the body which does the exact opposite of flatter. Add to that the fact that it was simply too long. So finally, I willed myself to tuck it in, which is something I’ve never really done to my normal outfits EVER, because it always seemed too formal for a supposedly casual get-up.

To my surprise, it worked perfectly! Both the length and fit problem disappeared when I tucked my top in and created a sort of retro look that suited me quite well. (Or at least, I think it did. LOL)

The jacket, for me, really did it in for the outfit. Though the top and the trousers were fantastic on their own, throwing on the jacket just gave it so much more depth and dimension. Not to mention, an incredible compliment to the fall color palette with its deep forest green hue and splendid military-inspired design.

It actually brought me back to the days when I was head over heels for anything military-inspired! The epaulettes and the various little rugged-yet-not-so-rugged details made me fall in love with the trend even more!

For a dose of character and to balance the outfit’s seriousness and formality, I accessorized with one heck of an arm party, consisting of my favorite accessories! I love how it gives any outfit such a fun and urban vibe. It’s probably one of the best ways to make an ensemble all the more interesting!

Top left to bottom right: Chain and Watch is a gift, Baller from PowerBooks, Tribal Bracelet from 168.

For a polished yet rugged finish, I don’t think any pair would’ve done a better job than these fantastic sneaks from Converse. These bad boys will always have a special place in my heart. Its calming green and brown is perfect for my overall style and personality, moreover, it just looks so balanced and practically goes with just about anything!

I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but these black chinos from Giordano has undoubtedly made its way to my Closet Staples list! It’s unbelievable versatility and perfect fit have proven it to be one of my easy favorites for a no-fail outfit. And let’s not forget how comfortable they are! Dang, Giordano, you sure know how to make people like me very VERY happy! LOL

Hands down, this is probably one of my most favored looks ever! And can I just say how much I love the photos this time around? Though my little brother often complains, he’s actually developing quite a skill! He just doesn’t realize it yet. Hehehe

Anyways, I might not be able to post as much until next Wednesday. Exams have taken over and it’s going to be a bit of a crazy few days!

So what do you think of my look? Gosh, I hope I did Adam Gallagher justice! ‘Til next time, then!
